Exciting changes are coming to the 2025 WorldSBK calendar, with Hungary’s brand-new, state-of-the-art Balaton Park Circuit making its highly anticipated debut in July. This marks the first-ever Hungarian round in the history of the Superbike World Championship, a significant milestone for both Hungarian motorsport and WorldSBK.
The provisional calendar for the 2025 MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship has been released, featuring 12 rounds. Among them, Hungary’s Balaton Park Circuit is set to make its debut from July 25–27, providing a thrilling new addition to the Championship. This Hungarian round is expected to be a major highlight, not only for local fans but for the entire international motorsport community. Let’s take a closer look at the 12-round calendar.
The season kicks off traditionally at Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit in Australia, running from February 21–23. As usual, there will be an Official Test for both the WorldSBK and WorldSSP categories on February 17–18. After Australia, the Championship heads to Portugal’s Autodromo Internacional do Algarve, which has been rescheduled to March 28–30. The WorldSSP300 season will also begin at this venue.
The iconic TT Circuit Assen in the Netherlands hosts the third round from April 11–13, where the FIM Women’s Circuit Racing World Championship will begin its second season. Following Assen, the first of two Italian rounds takes place at Cremona Circuit from May 2–4. Next, the Czech Republic’s Autodrom Most gets a new slot in the calendar, with racing scheduled for May 16–18.
Before the highly anticipated Hungarian round, the historic Misano World Circuit “Marco Simoncelli” in Italy will hold its event from June 13–15. The birthplace of WorldSBK, Donington Park, hosts the UK round from July 11–13, followed by the debut of the Balaton Park Circuit in Hungary, where the WorldSBK grid will race for the first time from July 25–27.
The latter part of the season becomes more intense from September onwards. Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours takes its traditional slot from September 5–7, followed by Spain’s MotorLand Aragon from September 26–28. The season concludes with back-to-back rounds at Circuito Estoril from October 10–12, and the grand finale at Circuito de Jerez – Angel Nieto from October 17–19.
Balaton Park Circuit’s addition to the WorldSBK calendar is still subject to homologation, but anticipation is building as the Hungarian venue prepares to welcome top-level Superbike racing to its shores for the first time. This inaugural Hungarian round offers a unique opportunity for local fans to witness world-class riders and machines in action at the scenic Balaton location.
